Behaviour & Inclusion Support Assistant

Location: Birkenhead / Liverpool area

Hours: Full-Time | Term Time Only

Pay: £14–£16 per hour (depending on experience)

We are recruiting for a Behaviour & Inclusion Support Assistant to work in a specialist education provision supporting pupils with SEMH and additional learning needs. This role focuses on supporting students to engage positively with education, manage behaviour effectively, and access learning in a structured and supportive environment. You will work as part of a dedicated team of teachers, pastoral staff, and support workers to help remove barriers to learning and promote positive outcomes for all pupils.

Key responsibilities:

Supporting pupils with SEMH and SEN needs in and out of class

Promoting positive behaviour and engagement

Delivering 1:1 and small group support

Supporting emotional wellbeing and resilience

Working closely with staff to implement support strategies

Requirements:

Experience in education, care, or youth support

Understanding of SEMH/SEN needs

Strong behaviour management skills

Patient and consistent approach

Commitment to safeguarding
