Job Title: Toolmaker

Hourly rate: up to £18 per hour (DOE)

Contract: Permanent

Working hours: Monday – Thursday 7.30am – 16.00pm

Fridays 7.30am – 14.30pm

Holiday entitlement: 33 days

Due to continued growth Next Generation are currently recruiting for a Toolmaker to work with a well-established manufacturing company based in Birmingham. As the Toolmaker you will be responsible for the manufacture, modification, and repair of a wide variety of tooling and precision components. This is a hands-on role requiring a high level of skill, attention to detail, and the ability to work from drawings with minimal supervision.

Duties of the Toolmaker:

* CNC milling using XYZ machines

* Toolmaking for jigs, fixtures, and production tooling

* One-off and small batch precision components

* Tool repair, maintenance, and modification

The successful candidate for the Toolmakers position will have the following experience:

* Proven experience as a Toolmaker or CNC Miller in a toolroom environment

* Strong CNC milling experience (XYZ controls preferred)

* Ability to read and work from engineering drawings

* Experience with one-off and bespoke work (not just production machining)

* Self-motivated with a problem-solving mindset
