About the role:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to work in secondary schools across the St Helens area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to make a positive impact on students’ education while gaining valuable experience in a school environment.
As a cover supervisor you will be responsible for supervising classes when teachers are absent, ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining a positive classroom environment. This role is deal for graduates, career changers or those considering a future in teaching.
Key responsibilities:
* Supervise classes across all key stages (KS3 and 4) in the absence of subject teachers
* Deliver pre-planned lesson materials and ensure students remain on task
* Promote positive behaviour
* Support students with their learning
* Take accurate registers and report concerns to relevant staff
* Assist with general school duties as required
* Adhere to school policies and procedures
Essential requirements:
* Degree or equivalent qualification
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to engage students aged 11-16
* Confident classroom presence
* Flexible and adaptable
* Reliable and punctual with a professional attitude
* Enhanced DBS or willing to obtain one
