Location: Slough
Salary: Circa £50,000 (depending on experience)
Monday – Friday | 10-hour day shifts
We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Manager to oversee the safe, efficient, and compliant running of a busy HGV fleet operation.
This role is ideal for someone with strong experience managing European haulage operations, with air freight experience being a strong advantage.
About the Ideal Person
To have at least 10 years’ experience of working within a Transport department, involving HGV’s.
They MUST have experience and knowledge of operating a HGV fleet within Europe. Ideally also have experience within the Air Freight sector.
Be able to work alongside 2 other Transport Managers, as part of the overall team, so being a strong team player will be extremely important.
The successful candidate MUST have achieved a CPC, and held it for at least 8 years, having also been active on an Operators Licence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee day-to-day fleet operations
* Ensure full compliance with DVSA, Operator Licence, and transport regulations
* Manage vehicle maintenance schedules and fleet documentation
* Monitor tachograph data, driver compliance, and WTD reports
* Handle accident investigations and vehicle defect management
* Support driver recruitment, onboarding, and training
* Maintain health & safety standards across the operation
* Identify opportunities to improve fleet efficiency and reduce costs
What We’re Looking For:
* Minimum 10 years’ transport experience working with HGV fleets
* Strong knowledge of European haulage operations
* Air freight experience (desirable)
* Must hold a valid CPC qualification for at least 8 years
* Previous experience operating on an Operator’s Licence
* Strong leadership and communication skills
