Smile Education are currently recruiting for a Newly Qualified Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school based in Walsall.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to secure their first role within education and kick-start their career in a setting where they can fully immerse themselves in school life, gain valuable experience and make a real difference to students with additional needs.
The school is looking for a passionate, caring and dedicated individual who is eager to begin their journey supporting children and young people within a nurturing learning environment.
The Role As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to help students access learning both inside and outside of the classroom. You will support pupils with a range of additional needs and help create a positive, engaging and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.

You may support students with a variety of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including:

Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
ADHD
Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)
Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
Physical disabilities and sensory needsPrevious experience in a similar role through placements, volunteering or childcare settings is desirable but not essential, making this the perfect opportunity for a newly qualified Teaching Assistant looking to build on their experience and confidence.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
A relevant qualification in:
Teaching Assistant
Early Years
Health and Social Care
Or a similar child-based qualification
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Patience, empathy and a nurturing approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
A positive, proactive and can-do attitude
The confidence to use their own initiative while also working effectively as part of a team
Commitment, reliability and willingness to learnRequirements
Able to provide a minimum of 2 references covering the last 2 years
Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
