Job Title: Inventory Controller
Inventory Controller / Material Control Leader
Benefits: Holiday – 25 days 8 days bank holiday (33) Pension, Healthcare plan, Income protection, flexible working policy
Hours – Site-based with hybrid working.
37.5 hours a week, Monday – Friday – hours can be flexed, circa 8-4pm
We are a pioneering design and manufacturing organisation with a new, highly innovative product range. Due to growth and further expansion, we are looking for a talented Inventory Controller to undertake a varied and pivotal role as part of our close-knit team. As such, you will have the ability to make a real difference and be a key member of the team as we continue to develop.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced senior level Inventory Controller play a pivotal role in managing stock across outsourced manufacturing partners and cutting-edge R&D operations—supporting both commercial production and new product innovation.
You’ll be the critical link between engineering, suppliers, and contract manufacturers—ensuring materials are available, costs are optimised, and inventory is tightly controlled.
Key responsibilities as Inventory Controller will include:
Owning and optimising inventory across multiple locations, including OEM/CEM partners and internal R&D
Maintain accurate stock visibility using ERP/MRP systems
Align materials with demand forecasts and production pipelines
Proactively manage risks: shortages, excess stock, and long lead-time items
Act as the main interface with contract manufacturers—monitoring WIP, stock levels, and commitments
Drive partner performance across delivery, reporting, and responsiveness
Support production readiness and cross-functional planning
Build scalable inventory processes to support rapid business growth
You will have considerable autonomy and scope to really make an impact in the role and help influence the inventory strategy long term.
To succeed you will ideally have:
Proven experience in inventory/stock control within manufacturing, hardware, or electronics
Strong background working with outsourced manufacturing (OEM/CEM)
Hands-on ERP/MRP/SAP experience
Experience managing stock across multiple locations or partners
Track record of reducing BOM costs
Desirable:
Inventory/stock control qualification (Level 4 or similar)
Experience in R&D or New Product Introduction (NPI) environments
Exposure to electronics/component supply chains
Demand planning knowledge
Likely to suit individuals with a background as (but not limited to):
Inventory Controller, Inventory Control Manager, Material and Inventory Manager, Material Control Manager, Senior Inventory Controller or similar
