Hair & Beauty Teacher – Pupil Referral Unit (PRU)
Location: Greater Manchester
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Temporary (via The Education Specialists)
Pay: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)
The Education Specialists are currently recruiting for a dedicated and engaging Hair & Beauty Teacher to join a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Greater Manchester, starting as soon as possible.
This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire and support young people who thrive in practical, vocational learning environments.
The Role:
As a Hair & Beauty Teacher within a PRU setting, you will:
Deliver practical and theory-based Hair & Beauty sessions to small groups
Engage students through hands-on, vocational learning
Support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
Encourage creativity, confidence, and self-expression
Adapt lessons to suit a range of abilities and engagement levels
Manage behaviour effectively using a calm, consistent approach
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
A recognised qualification in Hair & Beauty (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent)
Teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE) or relevant teaching/training experience
Experience working with challenging behaviour or alternative provisions (desirable)
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
A passion for vocational education and supporting vulnerable learners
