We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive school in the Tamworth area for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing within a nurturing educational environment. The school is looking for a committed and reliable individual who can provide consistency and positive support to pupils throughout the school day.
The ideal candidate will be available full-time; however, part-time applicants may also be considered for the right person.
The Role As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils and teaching staff to support learning both inside and outside of the classroom environment. A key part of the role will involve working with children on a 1:1 basis, helping them to engage with learning, develop confidence and achieve their individual targets.
Responsibilities will include:
Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small group settings
Assisting children inside and outside of the classroom learning environment
Supporting a key child during lunch breaks and less structured parts of the day
Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner
Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
Helping to create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment
Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff to meet pupils’ needsThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience working with children, ideally within a school or SEN setting
Experience supporting children with behavioural or additional learning needs
The ability to manage and de-escalate behaviour effectively
A positive, proactive and can-do attitude
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
The ability to work well as part of a team while also using their own initiative to work independently
Commitment, consistency and reliability — essential qualities for this role
A genuine passion for supporting children and creating a positive learning environmentQualifications Required Applicants must hold a relevant qualification, such as:
Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
CACHE qualification
Childcare or Education-related qualification
Or equivalent relevant experience and certificationWhy Apply?
