Carmichael UK is working with a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering major infrastructure works on the HS2 project. We are currently seeking an experienced Site Engineer with highways experience to support the delivery of works across a key section of the project in Northamptonshire.
This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure programmes and play a key role in delivering highways packages on a flagship project.
The Role
As Site Engineer, you will support the delivery of highways works, ensuring activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications, programme requirements, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Setting out and overseeing highways works including road construction and associated infrastructure
Monitoring site activities to ensure compliance with design and specifications
Carrying out as-built surveys and maintaining accurate engineering records
Preparing and updating Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and supporting quality processes
Producing site diaries and engineering documentation
Coordinating site activities with subcontractors and supervisors
Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with HS2 standards and project procedures
Requirements
Proven experience as a Site Engineer within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
Strong experience in highways or road construction works
Previous experience on major infrastructure is highly advantageous
HNC, HND, or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
Good understanding of engineering documentation including ITPs, surveys, and quality records
Strong communication and organisational skills
Right to work in the UK
