JOB – Machine Assembly & Service Operative

LOCATION – Salisbury, UK

TERM – Full-Time

SALARY – £13 - £15 p/h (dependent on experience)

My client is a leading manufacturer and supplier of special purpose machinery across the UK and Europe. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Machine Assembly & Service Operative to join their workshop and service team on a full-time basis.

The Machine Assembly & Service Operative will ideally have the following attributes:

• MUST HAVE experience in electro-mechanical assembly or a similar manufacturing environment

• Ability to follow detailed build manuals, drawings, and written instructions

• Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety

• Experience working with electrical, electronic, and mechanical components

• Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills for mechanical and electrical systems

• Ability to contribute to process improvements and build efficiency

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Reliable team player with a proactive, hands-on approach

• Understanding of workshop health & safety standards and best practice

• Experience in repair, servicing, or maintenance of machinery would be advantageous

The Machine Assembly & Service Operative role will involve:

• Assembling special purpose machines in small batches to build specifications

• Integrating electrical, electronic, and mechanical components into fully functional machines

• Carrying out visual and physical quality control inspections during and after assembly

• Diagnosing faults and repairing machines in the workshop environment

• Supporting the service team with breakdown resolution and troubleshooting

• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment

• Reporting safety issues, quality concerns, and potential improvements

• Occasionally collecting and replacing machines at customer sites across the UK

• Supporting continuous improvement of assembly and service processes
