The Job:

This is a hands-on engineering role within a busy production environment, ideal for an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer with a strong electrical bias. You’ll play a key role in maintaining and improving the reliability of automated packaging machinery, helping to minimise downtime and support ongoing operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production equipment

Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns to minimise disruption

Lead electrical fault finding on machinery, including control panels, sensors, and drives

Support mechanical maintenance on conveyors, bearings, belts, and gearboxes

Identify and implement continuous improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability

Conduct site and equipment assessments, recommending corrective actions

Assist with installation and commissioning of new machinery

Support general site maintenance where required (with priority on production equipment)

The Person

Good experience in a multi-skilled engineering role

Strong electrical bias (approx. 70% electrical / 30% mechanical)

Proven experience working with packaging or automated machinery

Recognised electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)

Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

Proactive, hands-on approach with a strong sense of ownership

Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

What we offer:

Salary up to £45,000 DOE

26 days plus bank holidays.
