Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Tamworth

Type: Permanent

Shifts: Monday - Friday 07:00 - 16:00, with potential for overtime

SRG are currently recruiting for a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer to join a successful and growing client based in Tamworth.

This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining diagnosing and improving pant machinery to ensure safe, efficient and reliable operations. As the Mechanical Maintenance/ Plant Engineer, you will play a key role in minimising downtime and driving continuous improvement.

This role provides clear progression pathways, supported by ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Key responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Maintain, diagnose and repair plant equipment and machinery
Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and fault finding
Manage spare parts stock
Support design and development of new equipment
Support production by ensuring all equipment is fully operational.

Criteria:

NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Engineering (or equivalent)
Proven experience in a similar position
Strong mechanical engineering skills
IOSH or NEBOSH (desirable)
Welding to BS 4872-1 standard (desirable)
IPAF licence or willingness to obtain (desirable)
Hydraulics training (BFPA / NFPC) (desirable)
