Children’s Residential Support Worker
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated Residential Support Worker to join a therapeutic young people’s home supporting vulnerable children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Building positive relationships and engaging with young people daily
* Supporting children from traumatic backgrounds with patience and consistency
* Learning young people’s routines, interests, likes, and dislikes through care plans
* Supporting educational goals and personal development
* Helping with day-to-day living tasks
* Guiding and supporting behaviour management
* Ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and emotional stability of young people
* Working closely with social workers, therapists, and the wider care team
Shift Pattern
* 9am – 11pm + sleep-in
* 7am – 9:30am the following day
* Staff work 7 x 24-hour shifts (including sleep-ins) across a 3-week rota
Requirements
* Must be aged 21+
* Full UK driving licence required
* Minimum 6 months experience within:
* Residential childcare
* Schools
* Youth work
* Supported accommodation
* Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one
Training & Progression
Candidates moving into permanent positions will receive:
* Level 4 Residential Childcare qualification
* Level 3 offered where UK residency requirements apply
* PRICE restraint training
* Developmental Trauma training
* Therapeutic Parenting training
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a Teams meeting with the Registered Manager of the home as part of the recruitment process.
