Salary: £36,500 – £46,000

Overview:

First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our reputable client who are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join their growing operations team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on maintenance professional with strong problem-solving skills and experience across general building maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, decorating, and minor electrical works. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining premium office environments and supporting tenants across multiple managed sites.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Act as the first point of response for maintenance issues across managed office spaces
Carry out initial assessments, repairs, or recommend specialist contractors where required
Conduct regular site inspections and identify requirements for major repairs or remedial works
Attend sites during contractor visits and ensure all works are completed to company standards
Perform general maintenance tasks including plumbing repairs, leak repairs, changing taps, lock changes, tiling, painting, and decorating
Carry out minor electrical works and support with HVAC-related issues where required
Provide operational support during tenant move-ins, including mounting TVs, installing whiteboards, and general setup tasks
Undertake light carpentry duties such as building cabinets and minor joinery work
Maintain high standards of health and safety across all sites
Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients and tenants
Skills and Qualifications:

Proven experience within maintenance, facilities, or construction environments
Experience working on offices & commercial kitchens
Experience using hardware tools and electrical equipment
Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems (desirable)
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
Good communication skills and confidence dealing directly with clients
Well-organised with strong attention to detail
Good awareness of health and safety procedures
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider team
Basic maths skills and practical troubleshooting ability
