Our client Leicestershire County Council is looking for a Children's Senior Social Worker to join their Safeguarding team.
Main duties
Manage complex safeguarding and child protection cases involving children and families at risk.
Complete statutory assessments, Section 47 enquiries, and risk assessments.
Develop, implement, and review child protection and child in need plans.
Carry out regular home visits and ensure the child's voice is central to decision-making.
Prepare reports for court, child protection conferences, and statutory reviews.
Work closely with police, schools, health services, and other partner agencies.
Attend and contribute to strategy meetings, core groups, and safeguarding conferences.
Initiate legal proceedings where necessary to safeguard children.
Maintain accurate case records in line with legislation and local authority procedures.
Support and mentor junior social workers and provide practice guidance.
Assist team managers with complex decision-making and quality assurance.
Ensure compliance with safeguarding legislation, policies, and professional standards.
