Salary: £500 - £700 per week (depending on experience)
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

About the school:

We are working with a warm and inclusive SEND Primary school in Rochdale who are seeking at least one, possibly two dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their highly supportive team until half‑term.

The school supports pupils with a range of complex needs, including PMLD, SEMH, and significant developmental delays. You will be working across Key Stage 1 (ages 5-7) and Key Stage 2 (ages 7-11).

KS1 learners are working at a nursery-level developmental stage, requiring a highly nurturing, play-based approach.
KS2 learners follow a practical, hands‑on curriculum, with some pupils needing strong emotional regulation support.Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting, positive relationships with children who rely heavily on adult support are essential.

About the role as a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant:

Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex needs and EHCPs
* Support learners working at early developmental stages, including sensory and play‑based interaction
* Assist the class teacher with adapted lesson delivery, behavioural regulation and personalised interventions
* Promote emotional regulation, independence and consistent routines
* Work collaboratively with the wider support team, including therapists and SEND leadsWhat We're Looking For from a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant:

Experience supporting children with SEND, PMLD or SEMH (school or care setting)
* Confidence supporting children working significantly below age-related expectations
* A calm, compassionate and resilient approach
* Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively
