PSV/HGV Mechanical Fitter

About the Role:
Our client is seeking experienced PSV/HGV Mechanical Fitters to join their engineering team based in Chelmsford. In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of vehicles, ensuring they remain safe, reliable, and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities:
* Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical repairs and servicing
* Identify the correct repair methods and required parts
* Perform routine maintenance and vehicle safety inspections
* Use diagnostic equipment and handheld data capture devices where applicable
* Attend roadside breakdowns and assist with vehicle recovery when required
* Carry out road testing to validate repairs and identify any further issues
About You:
* NVQ Level 3 / SVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance (essential)
* PSV or HGV experience preferred, but not essential
* Applications welcomed from ex-Forces personnel or engineers from other sectors
* Full UK driving licence required
* PCV licence desirable (training can be provided)
* Flexible and reliable with the ability to work shifts and weekends
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Working Hours:
* 4 days out of 7 (including weekends)
* Rotating shifts:
* Early: 05:00 – 15:00
* Late: 14:30 – 00:30
