Contract Field Service Engineer – Automation (Conveyors)
Midlands (Field-based) | 6‑Month Contract
We are currently supporting an established warehouse automation and intralogistics business who are looking to bring in an experienced Field Service Engineer on an initial 6‑month contract.
This role is focused on supporting live automated sites, with a strong emphasis on preventative maintenance, system reliability, and fault finding across conveyor and material handling systems.
The Role
Working across customer sites in the Midlands, you’ll be responsible for ensuring automation systems are operating efficiently and downtime is minimised.
Key responsibilities include:
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on conveyor and MHE systems
* Diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical faults
* Supporting site teams during breakdowns and performance issues
* Ensuring systems are maintained to a high operational standard
* Providing clear reporting on maintenance activity and system performance
What We’re Looking For
* Multi-skilled engineer with a strong electrical bias
* Proven experience working with conveyors and automation systems
* Background in warehouse automation, FMCG, or production environments
* Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capability
* Comfortable working independently across multiple sites
Location & Travel
* Midlands-based (Birmingham / Leicester / Nottingham ideal)
* Covering regional customer sites

* Opportunity for extension depending on workload
