Experienced Teaching Assistant - SEN Support | Secondary School | Ealing | September Start

An inclusive and well-established secondary school in Ealing is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join their SEN department on a full-time basis from September. This is a 5-day-per-week role and an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive school that places student wellbeing and inclusive education at the centre of everything they do.

The school has a strong reputation for its SEND provision and provides targeted support for students with ASD, SEMH, ADHD, and additional learning needs. The successful Teaching Assistant will work closely with the SENCO, classroom teachers, and pastoral team to ensure students are fully supported both academically and emotionally.

The Role

In this role, you will support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping them access learning, remain engaged in lessons, and build confidence within the classroom. You will play a key role in supporting behaviour strategies and encouraging positive outcomes for students with additional needs.

Responsibilities

Deliver 1:1 SEN support within mainstream lessons
Support small group interventions across core subjects
Assist teachers with differentiated resources and classroom preparation
Help students with emotional regulation and engagement strategies
Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and the SEN department
Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements

Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school
Strong understanding of SEN needs including ASD, SEMH, and ADHD
Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
Calm, patient, and proactive approach
Passion for supporting young people and inclusive education
