Job Title: Town Planner/Senior Town Planner

Location: Preston

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established boutique Town Planning consultancy in the search for an experienced Senior Planner / Planning Consultant to join their growing team.

This respected consultancy is known for delivering tailored planning solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects and sectors. With a strong reputation for client service and successful project delivery, the company offers a collaborative working environment and the opportunity to play a key role in shaping planning strategies and outcomes.

The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious planner looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and flexible consultancy environment. The successful candidate will be involved in a broad range of planning projects and will take responsibility for:

Managing planning applications from inception through to determination
Preparing and submitting detailed planning reports and supporting documentation
Conducting site appraisals and feasibility assessments
Providing expert advice on planning policy, legislation, and development strategy
Liaising with clients, local authorities, consultants, and key stakeholders
Supporting the delivery of successful planning outcomes across a variety of sectorsThe role is based in Kirkham and offers hybrid working flexibility.

Requirements

Applicants should possess:

Strong knowledge of UK planning regulations, policy, and legislation
Experience preparing planning applications and reports
Excellent project management and organisational skills
Strong written and verbal communication abilities with a client-focused approach
Experience engaging with local authorities and stakeholders
A degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or a related discipline
RTPI membership or working towards chartership is desirable
A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills
Experience using planning software and relevant industry tools would be advantageousWhy Apply?
