Our client is is the recognised global leader and reference in crane rental services, heavy lifting, and engineered transport and are looking to add a Transport Planner to the team.
To ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant planning and execution of transport operations for company heavy lifting and engineered transport projects, enabling on-time delivery and customer satisfaction while maximising operational efficiency and resource utilisation
Key Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate the movement of cranes, components, and heavy haulage equipment in compliance with regulations and company safety standards.
Prepare transport plans, routing, and scheduling for moves.
Liaise with project managers, crane supervisors, and logistics partners to ensure timely mobilisation and demobilisation of equipment.
Secure permits, escort vehicles, and route clearances for abnormal or oversized loads. Coordinates with customers, police, road authorities, and permit agencies.
Optimise fleet utilisation, fuel efficiency, and driver assignments to minimise cost and downtime.
Maintain up-to-date transport documentation, including load manifests, customs papers, and risk assessments.
Monitor real-time transport progress and address delays, incidents, or compliance issues.
Support tender and project teams with logistics input and feasibility assessments.
Ensure compliance with legal transport requirements (ADR, HGV, EU and national road transport laws).
Contribute to continuous improvement of transport planning processes and digital tools (e.g., SAP, TMS).Qualifications / Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of exp in transport planning, preferably in heavy lift or construction sectors.
Knowledge of national and international road regulations and heavy haulage permitting.
