Technical Production Operative - Leeds (LS14)

Our client, a reputable leader in the industrial sector, is hiring for a dedicated Technical Production Operative to join their team in Leeds. This role is vital in ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of machinery on site.

Shifts: 12hours (7-7) Allocated on a weekly basis but generally by crew 2 Days - 2 Nights - 4 Off (Repeat) includes weekends but not bank holiday and there is a shutdown at Christmas.
Training: The client is reviewing what the training plan will look like; this might initially be on Days Mon-Fri but equally could be 'on crew'
Pay: £13.45 - £14.60, then £17.88 after 12 weeks
What you'll be doing:
* Safely operate machinery following SOPs and instructions, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
* Conduct routine changeovers, start-up, and shutdown procedures, aiming for continuous improvement using SMED techniques.
* Manage materials in line with the production plan to meet weekly demands.
* Perform daily checks, adjustments, and defect tagging as part of the R2S process.
* Support problem-solving, root cause analysis, and participate in pit stops, pre-briefs, and de-briefs.
* Monitor quality standards, report issues, and assist in investigations using Q-EWO.
* Follow environmental protocols to minimise waste and handle hazardous materials correctly.
* Communicate effectively across shifts, providing clear reports and operational insights.

What you'll bring:
* Competence in operating machinery safely and understanding SOPs.
* Basic knowledge of AM principles, machine adjustments, and digital tools.
* Experience in following safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
* Strong team player with good communication skills and a proactive attitude.
* Flexibility to support shift patterns and adapt to evolving technology.
* Minimum of 3 GCSEs in English, Maths, and Science/Engineering or equivalent.
