My client is looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team near Chelmsford. This is a permanent role supporting projects across commercial, education, and healthcare, helping to deliver strong commercial control and accurate cost management throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities
* Assist with cost reporting, budgets, forecasts and valuations
* Produce and review valuations, take-offs and measurement documentation
* Support with subcontractor procurement and cost plan/tender support
* Assist in managing and valuing variations and change activity
* Track project costs vs plan and help identify commercial risks and issues early
* Support preparation of applications, interim payments, and final account information
* Maintain clear cost records and documentation in line with company processes
* Liaise with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders to keep information accurate and timely
Requirements
* Previous experience as a Assistant QS within UK construction (relevant sectors preferred)
* Understanding of measurement and valuation processes
* Good IT skills (e.g. Excel, cost management systems—training can be provided)
* Strong communication skills and attention to detail
* (Desirable) relevant QS qualification and/or working towards MRICS / similar
