Early Years / Nursery SEN Teacher
I am working with an Special Needs School in Wakefield seeking a caring, creative, and dedicated Early Years / Nursery SEN Teacher to join our team and support children with Special Educational Needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
This would be a Full time role
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate practitioner who believes every child deserves the best possible start in life and is committed to helping children develop confidence, communication, independence, and a love of learning.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated learning activities tailored to individual needs.
Support children with a range of SEN, including speech and language needs, autism, developmental delay, and social/emotional needs.
Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
Work closely with parents, carers, therapists, and external professionals to support each child's development.
Observe, assess, and record children's progress in line with EYFS requirements.
Develop and implement personalised learning and support strategies.
Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
Contribute to EHCP reviews and support planning where appropriate.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Early Years qualification, or equivalent relevant teaching qualification.
Experience working within Early Years and/or SEN settings.
Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and inclusive practice.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Patience, empathy, and a child-centred approach.
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
