TeacherActive is proud to be working with a supportive and inclusive school in Colchester that is looking to appoint a Behaviour Mentor on a permanent basis from September 2026.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes both inside and outside the classroom.

The successful Behaviour Mentor will work closely with pupils who may need additional behavioural, emotional, or pastoral support, helping to create a calm, consistent, and engaging learning environment.

The role will include:

Supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional needs

Building positive and trusting relationships with students

Working alongside teaching and pastoral teams to implement behaviour support strategies

Encouraging engagement, attendance, and positive learning behaviours

Providing one-to-one and small group support where required

Promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment

The successful candidate will have:

Experience working with children or young people in an education, care, youth work, or mentoring setting

Strong behaviour management and communication skills

A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach

The ability to build positive relationships quickly

A genuine passion for making a difference in young people’s lives
