BMR Solutions Ltd are working in partnership with a global advanced engineering and manufacturing business to recruit a Strategic Sourcing Buyer for a permanent hybrid opportunity based in Bristol.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-growth, technology-led manufacturing environment where procurement plays a critical role in driving supply chain resilience, supplier performance, cost reduction, and operational success.
You’ll take ownership of strategic sourcing activities across key commodity areas, developing high-performing supplier networks, securing long-term supply continuity, and delivering measurable commercial improvements within a complex engineering environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Develop and deliver strategic sourcing and category management plans
* Build, manage, and optimise a robust supplier portfolio
* Negotiate and implement long-term supplier agreements including BSA and LoW arrangements
* Drive supplier performance, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives
* Strengthen supply chain resilience and develop business continuity plans for critical suppliers and components
* Secure supplier capacity through proactive planning and supplier engagement
* Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Production, and Customer Service teams
* Support early supplier involvement in new technology and product development projects
* Ensure supplier compliance across quality, environmental, ethical, and governance standards
* Deliver the best sustainable total cost while maintaining quality and supply performance
What We’re Looking For
* Degree qualified in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or similar
* CIPS Level 4 qualified
* Minimum 10 years procurement experience within manufacturing or engineering
* Strong background in strategic sourcing or category management
* Commercially astute with strong negotiation and supplier management skills
* Experience with cost analysis and supply market intelligence
* Able to read and understand technical drawings
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Experience working within fast-paced technical or manufacturing environments
