Portfolio Payroll are pleased to be working with a longstanding and highly respected client, within the education sector that are looking to a motivated and ambitious Payroll Assistant.

Are you passionate about payroll and looking for a unique opportunity to work with a prestigious organisation? This is an internationally renowned educational institution, is seeking a meticulous and driven Payroll Assistant to join their team.

The Role

As a Payroll Assistant, you will play a crucial role in delivering an efficient and accurate payroll service for their employees and freelance staff.

Working within a complex manual payroll environment, you will manage a wide range of responsibilities, including processing hourly and weekly timesheets, handling amendments, and ensuring compliance with payroll regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Accurately input and process timesheet-based payroll data for a diverse workforce.
Manage and verify overtime, adjustments, and variable pay elements.
Assist in the preparation and distribution of payslips, ensuring all deductions are accurate and timely.
Support the Payroll Manager with year-end processes, including P11Ds and P60s.
Respond to employee queries, providing clear and professional guidance on payroll matters.
Contribute to the improvement of payroll systems and processes.

About You

Experience in payroll processing, ideally in a timesheet-heavy environment.
An understanding of payroll legislation and compliance.
Meticulous attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
Confident communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and managers.
A proactive attitude, eager to solve problems and enhance payroll efficiency.
