Secondary Humanities Teachers for Outreach Tuition
Subjects: RE, History, Geography, PSHCE
Location: Across the Borough of Harrow
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £30–£40 per hour + paid PPA time
We are seeking qualified secondary Humanities teachers (QTS/QTLS essential) to deliver 1:1 and small group outreach tuition to students across Harrow. This role is ideal for teachers who are passionate about Humanities education and committed to supporting students outside the traditional classroom environment.
The Role
You will provide personalised tuition in one or more Humanities subjects, supporting students who may be out of mainstream education or in need of additional academic and pastoral support.
Key Information
* Hours: Monday–Friday, 9am–4pm (term-time only)
* Flexibility: Sessions arranged around your availability
* PPA Time:
* 2 hours of paid PPA when you begin
* 1 additional paid PPA hour for every 10 hours of tuition per child
* Location:
* Usually in the student’s home (parent/carer present)
* Occasionally in a local library or education centre
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS)
* Enhanced DBS (on the update service or willing to apply)
* Strong subject knowledge in one or more Humanities subjects
* Ability to adapt teaching to meet individual learner needs
Roles and Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging, personalised Humanities tuition to secondary-age students
* Plan and prepare lessons aligned to individual learning plans
* Produce short weekly progress reports
* Work collaboratively with parents/carers and education centres
* Maintain accurate attendance and progress records
