Location: Walsall & Cambridge Regions

Hours: 37 Hours

South Staffs Water supplies high quality drinking water to approximately 1.3m people and approximately 35,000 commercial customers over 1,500 square km in the West Midlands, South Staffordshire, South Derbyshire, North Warwickshire and North Worcestershire areas. General maintenance plays an important part in supporting the infrastructure at our site.

Reporting to the Head of Capital Investment Delivery, you will be accountable for the Building and Facilities provision across all assets owned by the Water Company, including but not limited to

•Production and Supply Sites

•Offices and Depots

•Tenanted and vacant domestic company properties

The role entails ensuring all regulatory/legal compliance requirements are met, monitored and updated whilst maintaining condition and performance of the building stock, ensuring that it is fit for purpose against business expectations now and in the future.

You will define the planned maintenance strategy for all Company Buildings, co-ordinating an effective, efficient service through active management of all planned and reactive maintenance activities.

You will demonstrate proven experience of project and budget management incorporating tendering process and preparation of contracts, with the ability to liaise with external bodies. Proven ability to manage a team of people in the delivery of the strategy coupled with a good understanding of appropriate Health & Safety legislation and ensuring compliance with other legislation and regulations necessary in the safe management of the Company's building stock.

Experience of working in a large complex organisation and managing a varied building asset stock is essential. You will hold a minimum HNC/HND in Building studies/construction, possessing strong communication skills coupled with the ability to present facts and information effectively both in writing and verbally.
