About the Job
The Senior Systems Administrator is a technical role within the IT Operations and Support Team.
You will become part of a highly skilled team in a very busy environment. The team is accountable for the successful delivery of high availability infrastructure services for internal and external customers with an availability SLA of 99.5%. Working with a wider team of around 15 IT specialists in the Infrastructure & Networks team you will work closely with the technical and leadership teams to make sure that delivery and support infrastructure solutions meet the customer needs and are in keeping with corporate infrastructure behaviours of the team and the wider organisation.
This is a key technical role that requires analytical problem solving skills and the ability, at times, to work under pressure.
Due to the nature of the work some flexible working is required, hours covered are currently 7am - 7pm with an average of 7.5 hours worked daily between these times.
After the initial six months probationary period, this role may attract an "on-call" allowance where the candidate can apply to participate in the existing "on call" rota on a 1 week in 4 basis.
About the Candidate
The successful Senior Systems Administrator will have
- Strong experience of supporting Windows Server System
- A good understanding of Microsoft products and Active Directory technologies
- Microsoft SCOM Administration (or equivalent)
- Microsoft SCCM Administration (or equivalent)
- Good understanding of VMWare Administration
- An understanding of Wide Area Networking (WAN) and VPN technologies
- An understanding of configuration of basic Network and Telephony principles
- Good Scripting skills
Experience of Linux (ideally Red Hat) would be a definite bonus!
