A new opening for a Production Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer with leading provider of innovative marine solutions and specialised engineering services worldwide in: oil and gas, nuclear, construction, defence, Electronics, Systems, renewable energy and more. They specialise in the monitoring high-critical assets in the marine and shipping industries, reviewing performance and improving operational safety and efficiency. Experts in load measurement, they provide safety systems to jetties and harbours that monitor vessel approach and mooring line tensions.

The role:

The purpose of this role of Production Engineer is to drive Design for manufacturing improvement, ensuring all products are manufactured, conform to customer requirements in terms of specification and quality. Reviewing current processes and developing process improvements, ensuring processes, systems and methodologies working practices are consistent, effective and efficient. To support the daily operations of the various Engineering & Production teams to act as a cohesive function.

Responsibilities of the Production Engineer will include:

In conjunction with the Operations Manager, Production & Engineering Teams
Set and implement the Design for Manufacture improvement strategy for the business.
Identify opportunities to develop efficient design and manufacturing methodology to the right balance between cost, safety and quality.
Plan and coordinate Production Engineering processes on daily basis to produce high quality products with a Right First Time approach.
Identify opportunities to improve current processes, systems and working practices.
Review industry best practice and identify practical and cost effective solutions that can be implemented to improve operations from a quality control and/or efficiency perspective
Liaise with the engineering, project & manufacturing teams.
Adherence to company QMS and HSE requirements.
In association with OIC, drive continuous performance improvements throughout operations.

Skills and knowledge required:

Knowlege of Electronics or Systems within a production environment
Knowledge of good Engineering Practice
Knowledge of good Production Practice
2D & 3D CAD experience (preferably Inventor)
Understanding of key cost drivers for engineering & production or manufacturing
Knowledge of operation tools and processes

Experience required for the Production Engineer:

Manufacturing/engineering experience in a relevant discipline
Experience of driving change in a business
IT Skills

Qualifications required:

Technical Qualification ideally degree or equivalent industry experience preferred
