South West Water requires an experienced Electrical Technician in East Cornwall for the support of planned and reactive maintenance activities throughout the East Cornwall region. In addition to your core hours you will also be required to participate in an out of hours standby rota.
[b]What will you be doing?[/b]
The Electrical Technician will be responsible for delivering reactive and planned maintenance activities on South West Water assets. You will ensure that the business meets the required internal and external customer service standards, whilst protecting the environment.
You will carry out repair and maintenance for water and sewage treatment works, process control and electrical systems; diagnosing faults on all aspects of asset control and automation. You will compile and update any site engineering documentation which enables Operational staff to carry out support and maintenance of the works systems.
[b]Participation in an out of hours Standby Rota will be required for this role.[/b]
[b]What do you need?[/b]
You will need current Edition Electrical regulations or pre IEE qualification and test and inspect qualification enabling you to assist in the installation, repair and maintenance activities including optimisation of the operational plant, process power and control systems. You will also need:
*Time served apprenticeship supported by relevant formal qualifications e.g. City and Guilds, BTEC,*ONC/HNC/HND*Experience with VSD's, soft starts and motor control systems*Industrial or commercial electrical experience is essential*Knowledge of working with Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)*Good working knowledge of LV systems (working with 415vac down to 24vac and dc control and indication)*Self-motivated and willing to take responsibility for all aspects of work delivery*Good communications skills and be able to work on your own but also as part of a larger team*Full driving licence
