  • Title: Technical Design Architect (in RAN Planning)
  • Location: Reading - UK
  • Duration: 3 months Rolling Contract
  • Must have skills in: RAN Planning (Mandatory)/OSS Design (Mandatory)/Technical Design Architecture (Mandatory)

RAN Planning ( radio access network) experience is a MUST HAVE for this project - Profiles will get rejected if they have no experience in RAN Planning

Role Purpose - Technical Design Architect (in RAN Planning)

  • Drive toward our strategic architecture goals and objectives by ensuring the coherence, quality, security and availability of the organization's IT technical designs through the development and deployment of our architecture roadmap.
  • Be an advocate of standards, Datamodelling and technical designs artefacts and guide architecture work across multiple projects.
  • Provide strategic technical architectural oversight on assigned projects, including development of data model, interface and migration formats.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities: Technical Design Architect (in RAN Planning)

(In priority order)

  1. Define and implement overall technical design standards,
  2. guidelines, best practices and approved techniques and approach to assigned projects.
  3. Plan, document and present enterprise architecture-related Artefacts as required for each project
  4. Create as applicable logical data models and supervise the creation of physical data models in the assigned project
  5. Support the development of the IT Strategies and their alignment with the Business Strategies.
  6. Drive best practices in relation to technical designs Ensuring data security, backup, disaster recovery, business continuity are aspects covered within the designs and deliverables.
  7. Lead the reviews of project Architecture Definition Documents and related artifacts to ensure that projects align their design to agreed and appropriate architectures.
  8. Drive best practice in regard to reference/master data, transactional processing systems, data warehouse, business intelligence, and reporting technologies.
  9. Act as liaison to vendors and service providers to select the products or services that best meet company goals and requirements.
  10. Collaborate with project managers, address data related problems in regards to systems Integration and compatibility.

Critical Knowledge & Experience (non-time related):

Must have: Technical Design Architect (in RAN Planning)

  • Extensive experience of the RAN planning Architecture discipline in a global Organisation, IT or Telecoms (Mandatory)
  • Background in, or deep understanding of RF planning (Mandatory)
  • Broad and in-depth experience of complex IT/OSS environments
  • design. (Mandatory)
  • Experience as a TDA within an OSS environment (Mandatory)
  • Proven expertise on RDBMS - Oracle Desirable; SQL Server and DB2 (Bonus)
  • Datamodelling, manipulation and rationalisation experience within complex environments
  • Ability to pick up and discuss complex technical topics with experienced stakeholders
  • Knowledge of web services and XML messaging including XSD, WSDL, SOAP and REST (Bonus).
  • Experience in data migration and ETL
  • Experience in BI Reporting tools
  • Ability to conduct research into emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products as required
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis techniques
  • Ability to work within projects time-lines and budgets knowledge of An experience of TOGAF and Agile methodologies
