My client, is a leading and growing business in the hospitality sector seeking a Service Desk Technical Support Engineer who's specialism is Networking

Key to this role will be your Networking skills and experience in particular of complex multi-site environments. Specific experience of LAN/WAN, LAN architectural design, understanding TCP/IP stack, IP Addressing, DHCP and DNS as well as routing skills. You should be clear on how layer 2 and layer 3 networking works, subnetting and supernetting, understanding of Firewalls and wireless networking systems. Someone who has taken the lead in fault identification and resolution at switch and Router level with an understanding of Firewall principles. Experience of corporate WIFI. Windows networking operating systems. Monitoring alerts from server, ups, WIFI and network monitoring tools - alerting and escalation. Installing wireless AP's, monitoring wireless activities and performance, review suboptimal performance - recommend improvements, patching of network phones, PC's Switches and Routers etc.

Further skills and experience in Active Directory, understanding of various Operating Systems - Primarily Windows Server 2012 and above as well as building, configuring and deploying PCs, Raspberry Pie and IOS devices, Windows 10, and SQL administration and configuration knowledge would be a strong plus for any candidate.

We are looking for someone who confidently understands how these technologies work to provide efficient and robust services this includes effective change management.

We expect extensive Service Desk experience, (everyone in the team delivers 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support) with an understanding of ITIL framework, service and incident management and understands the modern role of IT as business enabler with IT working seamlessly with the business.

This is a small IT department that works strategically with MSP's to support, develop and deliver solutions to business needs.

This role will be a key player in the team, to support an aggressive expansion strategy and to deliver ever complex solutions.
