This is a superb opportunity for a SQL Server Development DBA (2012/14/16) to expand their knowledge of DevOps as well as building on their DBA expertise. This successful Hedge Fund is looking for a well-rounded SQL Server DBA with at least 5-8 years of experience Designing, implementing and optimising high throughput, scalable, clustered Database solutions in MS SQL Server 2014 and above, both providing direct expertise as well as mentoring development in SQL best practise, peer-reviewing code etc. In addition to core SQL Server DBA skills they are looking for someone with a keen interest in DevOps and automation using some of the following: C#, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Shell (Python, Powershell, Bash etc.), Docker/Containers, .Net, Linux.
As this is a medium sized firm you will work closely with other teams working on related projects in cloud migrations to AWS and Azure, and integrations with core applications including SAP ASE/SAP Hana, HA Oracle running on Linux so knowledge of these will be useful. This is a fast moving, expanding firm where best use of modern tech is key to the success of the business so they like people to be pro-active, all-rounders who are always staying abreast of developments in technology and bring new ideas to the team.
They would like someone with strong SQL server including good, current SQL 2014 (preferably backed by Microsoft Certification; MCP, MCSA etc), Good logical and Physical Design, Database Architecture, modelling and the ability to Implement changes and solutions in T-SQL.
This is currently fairly small team of highly skilled technologists with a very friendly, informal environment where they are looking for energy, ideas and someone who wants to make a difference.
