Role: .NET Lead Developer/Architect (ASP.NET Web API .NET Core SQL Server Microservices Micro-Services Micro Services C# CI CD Agile AWS Amazon Web Services GCP Azure Docker Kubernetes Terraform Containerisation Finance Trading Front Office Risk) required by our asset management client in Baltimore, Maryland. You will join a team of 9 engineers and one manager. The engineers are responsible for software engineering, testing, business analysis and DevOps combined. The manager will be responsible for budgeting, reporting to the business and senior management, some strategy and man-management such as appraisals, personal development, performance management and hiring. Your role will be as the technical lead and therefore oversee delivery, delegation of tasks, technical mentoring, technical strategy, methodology and best practices. The role will be 15-20% coding and 80-85% technical leadership, design and architecture.
The team has two main objectives over the next 12 months. Firstly, it needs to migrate risk models from a Legacy product to a new vendor product. This process is midway through and is expected to take another 4-6 months. Secondly, there is technology-wide modernisation, adopting and embracing AWS, microservices, containerisation, CI/CD, AI and machine learning. You will govern and oversee this process in the team. The new vendor risk product is hosted on AWS and other services need to be built and migrated across.
You will come on board with CI/CD and microservices in .NET. It would be highly advantageous if you had .NET Core, Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes and AWS, or an alternative cloud, even if only used at home. Also, importantly, you need to be able to demonstrate a drive and enthusiasm for technology that extends beyond work and includes reading, attending meet-ups, contributing to open-source or learning new languages.
This is an excellent opportunity to enter into a financial environment with no history in finance, where there is significant investment in IT and growth that will allow for progression into management or senior architecture functions.
