Principal Engineer - Law Firm

• Lead the design, architecture, and development of innovative technical solutions, with a focus on Microsoft Azure, cloud-native technologies, and microservices architecture.
• Act as an internal SME across complex business and technology projects, providing expert third-line support and driving resolution of critical incidents.
• Own and evolve our approach to disaster recovery, change governance, and platform reliability.
• Engage directly with senior business stakeholders to understand needs, scope new digital services, and drive platform capability.
• Mentor team members and support knowledge sharing across the wider engineering and IT teams.
• Contribute to technical strategy, roadmap planning, and IT governance forums, providing thought leadership on emerging tech and tooling.

What you'll bring:

• A strong technical background, ideally educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with a broad tech stack including:
• C#, JavaScript, Python
• Azure, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker
• CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.)
• Front End frameworks (React, Vue, ASP.NET)
• API design (REST, JSON, XML)
• Database experience: SQL, NoSQL, vector databases
• AI integration: OpenAI, Gemini, and other LLMs
• Strong knowledge of agile, lean, and DevOps best practices.
• A collaborative, commercial, and solutions-oriented mindset - someone who thrives in a high-trust, cross-functional environment.
• Previous experience leading or heavily contributing to complex enterprise platforms, ideally within a regulated or professional services environment.
