The role: This is a high-profile interim opportunity to lead and manage key transformation programmes across a large and complex council. You'll be supporting strategic leadership to drive cultural change, organisational development, and performance improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver Council-wide transformation and OD programmes.
- Engage with elected members and senior stakeholders to drive sustainable change.
- Provide strategic challenge, identify opportunities, and manage interdependencies and risk.
- Develop and performance manage service delivery plans
- Foster effective relationships with stakeholders and partners.
- Manage budgets, workforce planning, and team leadership.
What the client is looking for:
- Extensive experience of managing complex transformation and OD programmes in large organisations.
- Strong track record in strategic planning, service improvement, and policy development.
- Proven leadership in customer-focused, internal service environments.
- Expertise in stakeholder engagement and navigating political contexts.
- Experience in project management, risk management, and budget control.
- CIPD qualified (essential).
- Recognised project management qualification
- Experience in local government or similar public sector setting
- Able to work occasional out-of-hours as required
