Our client are our a top tier consultancy looking for a Scrum Master on a 6 months contract.

About the Role

We are looking for a Scrum Master with a hands-on background in Software Development or Testing, and recent experience delivering projects in a GDS-compliant environment. This role will support a multidisciplinary Agile team working on a high-profile government digital service.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring Agile processes are understood and effectively followed, removing blockers, and helping the team deliver high-quality outcomes within government frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide and support Agile delivery teams to ensure alignment with Scrum principles and GDS standards

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and reviews

• Act as a servant-leader, coaching teams to self-organise and continuously improve

• Proactively identify and remove impediments to delivery

• Work closely with Product Owners, Delivery Managers, and Technical Leads to ensure smooth delivery of services

• Ensure the team delivers in line with GDS service standards and agile delivery governance

• Report on team performance, using Agile metrics to support continuous improvement

Key Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Scrum Master on digital transformation or government programmes

• Strong understanding of GDS principles and experience delivering services through discovery, Alpha, beta, and live phases

• Prior hands-on experience as a Software Developer or QA/Tester - able to empathise and communicate effectively with technical team members

• Expertise in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), tools (Jira, Confluence), and delivery best practices

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

• Strong facilitation and coaching abilities
