Java Microservices Developer

Rate: inside IR35, up to £475/day

Location: on site in Cardiff 3 days per week

We are seeking a skilled Java Microservices Developer to join a strategic transformation programme within the financial services industry. You'll play a key role in building scalable microservices solutions, shaping the future of digital services using cutting-edge technologies.

Role Overview:
You will design, develop, and maintain microservices in a cloud-native environment, supporting a major modernisation project. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-impact work within a fast-paced, agile team, collaborating across technical and business teams.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop scalable, maintainable microservices using Java and Spring Boot
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment workflows
- Ensure code quality through testing, reviews, and best practices
- Work within agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban

Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong Java development background with Spring Boot and Spring Cloud
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and API design
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Familiarity with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB
- Proficiency in unit and integration testing
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable in client-facing and collaborative team environments
