Global IT Security Director
Global IT Security Director (Contract)
We are seeking a seasoned Global IT Security Director or a high-impact contract role with one of our enterprise clients. This position is ideal for a strategic leader with deep technical expertise in platform security, DevSecOps, and cloud environments, ready to drive end-to-end security transformation at scale.
In this role, you will own the vision, strategy, and execution of security engineering platforms covering identity, device, and data protection. You'll architect and deliver scalable, resilient security controls across hybrid infrastructure (cloud and on-prem), while enabling innovation and agility across global operations.
The successful candidate will embed security into CI/CD pipelines, champion automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to ensure high-performing, always-on security platforms.
You'll be responsible for leading engineering efforts in IAM (authentication, authorization, privileged access), endpoint security (threat detection, compliance, malware prevention), and data protection (DLP, encryption, secrets management). Modern work scenarios such as remote access, zero-trust networking, and AI/ML security workloads will be core components of your remit.
The role includes building resilient and observable platforms with Real Time monitoring and automated response capabilities. You'll define and deliver on key SLAs and KPIs, ensuring continuous improvement in platform reliability and threat detection.
This position also requires strong governance focus-ensuring all platforms meet compliance standards like ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, and GDPR-while operationalizing policy enforcement through automated controls and continuous compliance frameworks.
You will manage platform budgets, assess and oversee vendor partnerships, and lead procurement and renewal strategies aligned with long-term platform goals.
As a leader, you'll grow and mentor a global team of engineers, drive knowledge-sharing and cross-functional collaboration with platform, product, and architecture stakeholders, and promote a secure-by-design culture across all initiatives.
Required Experience
-
10+ years in cybersecurity, platform security, or security engineering
-
5+ years in senior leadership roles managing enterprise-scale security programs
-
Proven expertise in IAM, endpoint security, and data protection
-

-
Strong background in DevSecOps, automation, and security operations
-
Solid understanding of risk frameworks and compliance standards
Preferred Skills & Certifications
-
CISSP, CCSP, CISM, or equivalent security certifications
-
Experience with platforms like Okta, Azure AD, CrowdStrike, Zscaler, Tanium, Vault
-
