Exterior Lighting - Function Engineer

Hybrid working (Office based in Crewe, UK)

Initial 6 month duration - potential to extend

Are you ready to shape the future of automotive lighting at one of the world's most iconic luxury car brands? Bentley Motors is seeking a Lighting Function Engineer to lead the development and delivery of cutting-edge exterior lighting functions across hardware, software, and communication interfaces.

What You'll Do:

  • Own the end-to-end development of lighting functions, from concept to vehicle integration.
  • Create and maintain Function Descriptions and Requirements Specifications.
  • Develop and manage Function Delivery Plans, including testing and validation.
  • Conduct interface testing and support full system integration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Component Owners, Infrastructure Architects, and Integration Teams.
  • Provide release recommendations based on rigorous validation and verification.

Who You'll Work With:

  • Function and Component Owners across Electrical Engineering (EE), Electromechanics (EM), and Body Electronics (EK).
  • EE Infrastructure Architects and Integration Teams.

What You Bring:

  • Strong experience in ECU software and hardware integration.
  • Deep understanding of vehicle systems and function-based development.
  • Proficiency in requirements management and validation planning.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent; professional membership preferred.
  • German language skills are a plus.
