Are you ready to lead a highly skilled platform team at the cutting edge of financial technology? We're seeking a Platform Engineering Lead to drive the direction of a new large mission-critical risk platform supporting both DevOps infrastructure and advanced analytical tooling for a leading financial institution.

The Opportunity;

We have strong business buy-in and a powerful technical foundation - now we're looking for a dynamic leader to scale and evolve the platform as it grows. You'll be taking charge of two high-impact teams:

• A DevOps/Platform Engineering team focused on running environments, deploying applications, and enabling cloud-native architecture (Kubernetes, AWS/GCP).

• An Analytical Tools team supporting quants and data scientists working with big compute, financial analytics, and pricing models.

This role is at the intersection of infrastructure, development, and finance - ideal for someone who understands how to bridge technology and business impact.

What You'll Do;

• Lead and mentor a cross-functional platform team of ~10 engineers.

• Own platform delivery across cloud, infrastructure, and application interfaces.

• Evaluate and influence technology decisions with long-term impact.

• Collaborate with developers, quants, and data scientists to ensure systems are performant and maintainable.

• Scale and extend our platform to support distributed systems, large-scale compute, and financial analytics.

About You;

• Proven experience managing technical teams in a platform or infrastructure capacity.

• Strong technical background with Python - ideally used in financial systems, pricing models, or analytics tooling

• Deep understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).

• Experience building and supporting REST APIs and distributed systems.

• Familiarity with financial markets, trading, or options pricing is a strong plus.

• Front End skills (TypeScript/React) are a bonus but not essential.

• Organised, technically astute, and comfortable evaluating and driving complex technology programs while managing developer and user expectations.
