A leading IT Consultancy is seeking an SC Cleared Azure DevOps Engineer on a contract basis to work for a Government department. This is a Hybrid role and you will be needed onsite in London 2-3 times per week.

SC Clearance is a must and must be active.

We are seeking an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer with a strong background in Azure Infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in several of the following technologies:

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools: ARM templates, Azure Bicep
• Azure DevOps (ADO) and YAML Pipeline
• Logic Apps, Function Apps, Service Bus
• API Management Services (APIM) and APIs
• App Services, User Managed Identity
• Certificate management and renewal
• App Registration, Managed Identities, Key Vault, Storage Account
• Azure networking core components: VNet, subnets, NSG, Routing
• Azure Monitoring: Log Analytics Workspace (LAW), Application Insights (App Analytics)
• Scripting languages: PowerShell, Python, Bash
• Defender for Cloud,Servers, identity and access management (IAM), network security groups (NSGs), and encryption best practices
• Branching strategies
• Continuous integration, deployment, delivery, and testing
• Modern DevSecOps and GitOps practices
• Monitoring and alerting telemetry solutions and dashboards

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement cloud-based solutions to meet organizational needs.
• Ensure a thorough understanding of DevOps principles and practices.
• Design and manage deployment and release strategies (eg, blue-green deployments).
• Configure and build applications with feature flags.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines and branching strategies, including refactoring Legacy code to YAML for modern, maintainable, and scalable configurations.
• Integrate modern DevSecOps and GitOps practices.
• Set up and maintain modern monitoring and alerting telemetry solutions and dashboards.
• Maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) scripts for repeatable deployments.
• Automate tasks, deployments, and tests by creating infrastructure as code.
• Manage Azure Virtual Machines and Web Apps.
• Design and implement Azure networking and security resources.
• Ensure Azure infrastructure performance, availability, and security.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, and other team members to optimize and improve Azure services.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to Azure infrastructure.
• Monitor and manage cloud costs on Azure.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented Azure configurations and relevant infrastructure.
• Collaborate with application teams to diagnose and resolve issues, providing guidance and direction to ensure efficient problem-solving.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an Azure DevOps Engineer and Azure Infrastructure Engineer
• Strong understanding of CI/CD processes and branching strategies.
• Strong understanding of Azure cloud services, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure Networking.
• Experience with modern DevSecOps and GitOps practices.
• Familiarity with monitoring and alerting telemetry solutions and dashboards.
• Knowledge of Azure Security: Defender for Cloud, identity and access management (IAM), network security groups (NSGs), and encryption best practices.
• Ability to optimize and improve Azure services in collaboration with developers, architects, and other team members.
• Experience in monitoring and managing cloud costs on Azure.
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools like Bicep or ARM templates.
• Proficiency in Scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Certifications or working knowledge of the scope of the certificate
