Contract Azure Operations Engineer - Inside IR35 - Must have Active SC Clearance £400-480 per day - Remote

RecOps is partnered with a consultancy to source a talented Contract Azure Operations Engineer to work on an existing project for up to 4 months.

This role pays £400-480 per day Inside IR35 for an initial 3 month contract; this will be based remotely with occasional visit to client site. You must have active SC Clearance to be considered for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• As part of a DevOps team using Azure ADO, support Azure cloud migration projects from on-premises or other cloud providers using Azure Migrate as the primary method of migration.
• Support project team is source workload assessment and readiness for migration.
• Troubleshoot issues identified through UAT and post migration.
• Design and implement Azure-based infrastructure solutions (IaaS and PaaS).
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud environments for performance and cost-efficiency.
• Automate deployments and infrastructure configurations using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
• Ensure cloud environments are secure and compliant with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Provide technical documentation, knowledge transfer, and mentoring to support teams.
• Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and recommend cloud solutions aligned with business objectives.

Skills Required:

Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including key services like:
o Azure Migrate
o Azure Compute (VMs, App Services)
o Azure Networking (VNet, NSG, Load Balancers)
o Azure Storage and Databases (Blob Storage, Azure SQL)
o Azure Identity & Access Management (Azure AD, RBAC, Managed Identities)
Experience in cloud migration projects (eg, Lift-and-Shift, Re-platforming, Re-architecting).
Experience of both Windows and Linux OS
Proficiency in Scripting (PowerShell, Bash) and automation tools (ARM, Bicep, Terraform).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
Understanding of cloud security, governance, and cost management best practices.
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (eg, Docker, Kubernetes in Azure AKS) is a plus.

Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400)
