We're on the lookout for an experienced Lead Developer to drive forward the creation of a new integration platform, managing our client's in-house team of developers, and delivering high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions.

The Role

As Lead Developer, you'll be the technical lead on a brand-new digital platform project, working at the heart of this in-house development team. You'll steer solution design and development alongside third-party partners and play a key role in shaping their technical strategy and engineering culture.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and mentoring a team of 2-5 developers
• Setting development standards and ensuring code quality across internal and external teams
• Designing and building modern cloud-native applications, microservices, and mobile/web platforms
• Working with stakeholders across Architecture, Testing, Cyber Security, and Project Management
• Taking ownership of project delivery and handovers into operational teams

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone with strong technical expertise and a collaborative mindset. You'll be as comfortable writing elegant, scalable code as you are leading a high-performing team.

You should have:

• Significant experience as a full stack developer working with .NET
• Proven track record in cloud-based solution design (preferably on Microsoft Azure)
• Expertise in React, C#, and microservices architectures
• Strong background in software development standards, DevOps, and Agile methodologies
• Prior experience managing or mentoring developers
• Solid understanding of application architecture and integration patterns

This is a hybrid role with a base location of York or Manchester and some travel between sites as required. This is an exciting opportunity to lead software development for this well-known consumer organisation.
