Business Analyst
Our client, a Global Asset Manager, are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Business Analyst (BA) to join their team following the recent implementation of a new OMS, Bloomberg Asset and Investment Manager (AIM). The BA will work very closely with all business units across a growing asset manager, understanding of the value change and how changes in the business model impacts IT. Translating these into specifications and being the key link between business and technology. This role will support the stabilisation, optimisation, and ongoing enhancement of systems such as Bloomberg AIM and related front-to-Back Office workflows. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders across investment, compliance, operations, and IT to ensure maximum value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary liaison between business users and technology teams for systems such as Bloomberg AIM for enhancements and issue resolution.
- Gather, analyse, and document detailed business requirements related to workflows such as, trade workflows, compliance rules, order management, and portfolio modelling
- Support post-implementation reviews, identify process inefficiencies, and propose enhancements
- Manage stakeholder communications, ensuring alignment and transparency on deliverables and timelines
- Collaborate with portfolio managers, traders, compliance, and operations to assess and prioritise new feature requirements
- Produce high-quality artefacts: BRDs, user stories, process flows, gap analyses, test plans, etc.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinate with QA to ensure solution meets business needs
- Facilitate training and documentation for users on new system features and process changes
- Ensure regulatory and compliance needs are considered in all system changes
Essential Skills and Experience:
- 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in Asset Management or Investment Management
- Strong understanding of front-to-back trade life cycle
- Familiarity with compliance rule management within Bloomberg AIM
- Experience with data flows and integration with upstream/downstream systems (eg market data, accounting, risk, reporting platforms)
- Strong analytical and documentation skills, including BPMN or similar modelling techniques
- Experience in Agile and/or Waterfall delivery environments
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with other systems such as Bloomberg PORT/AIM
- Exposure to regulatory frameworks (MiFID II, UCITS, SFDR)
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, or similar tools
- Experience supporting data governance or data quality initiatives
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance, Business, Computer Science, or related field
Relevant certifications (eg BCS Business Analysis, CFA, IMC) are a plus
This is a hybrid opportunity with 3 days per week required in a central London office
