Integration Engineer - SQL Server/Web & API Development
Location: UK Remote
Contract Length: Initial 6 months + extensions

We're hiring an experienced Integration Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise transformation project, working across data platforms, web services, and custom APIs. This is a hands-on technical role ideal for someone who thrives in complex environments and enjoys solving integration puzzles across Legacy and modern systems.

What You'll Be Doing:
Design, build, and maintain system integrations using .NET, SQL Server, and low-code platforms
Develop and optimise SQL queries, stored procedures, and transformation logic
Build and consume RESTful and SOAP APIs
Work with XML, XSL, and JSON formats for data exchange
Collaborate with product, business, and engineering teams to gather integration requirements
Own and troubleshoot integration issues to ensure reliability and performance
Maintain technical documentation and contribute to the continuous improvement of integration workflows

What You'll Bring:
Proven experience as an Integration Engineer, Software Developer, or Backend Engineer
Strong SQL Server skills (procedures, views, table design, indexing, optimisation)
Solid background in .NET Framework/.NET Core for API and Back End development
Understanding of JavaScript and modern web service architectures
Familiar with both REST and SOAP API design and consumption
Confident working with XML/XSL/JSON for data formatting and transformation
Experience with cloud services (Azure or AWS) and API gateways
Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, or infrastructure automation
