Head of Data Services - AI, Design, Data Platform, Transformation, MS Fabric, Hybrid.

Our client within the private sector requires a Head of Data Services to lead the development and implementation of the Data Services function, including defining team structure, operating model, and service offerings. Oversee the setup and management of a modern cloud-based data platform, ideally using Microsoft Fabric.

• Collaborate closely with other business units to align data services with organisational goals and technology strategy.
• Drive the build-out of the data platform, focusing on scalability, usability, and performance.
• Provide strategic input into platform architecture, team design, and future capability planning.
• Influence and define how the Data Services team integrates with broader IT and business operations.

Key Accountabilities, Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience leading data transformation programs and building data capabilities from the ground up.
• Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with modern data platforms, especially cloud-based solutions (experience with Microsoft Fabric is a strong advantage).
• Demonstrated success in designing and structuring data teams, including operating models and service frameworks.
• Experience managing or overseeing teams of 20+ data professionals.
• Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture, platform governance, and data life cycle management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to operate effectively at senior levels.
• Experience with AI and advanced analytics is highly desirable.
