Junior Site Reliability Engineer
Location: Hybrid - Cambridge, UK
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience) + Benefits

Job Opportunity:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Junior/Graduate Site Reliability Engineer to join our award-winning software house in Cambridge. This role is ideal for someone with around a year of industry experience or a relevant internship, and could suit a recent graduate with a Computer Science or related degree looking to build a career in SRE and DevOps.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

- Problem Solver: Enjoys operating in an ever-changing landscape
- Educational Background:
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, or a related field
- From a top university (eg, Russell Group or globally ranked institution)
- Achieved a 2:1 or above, ideally with high-level academic marks or distinction
- Experience: Around 1 year of industry experience or a year-long internship in a DevOps, SRE, or technical support role

Technical Skills:

- Basic understanding of operating systems and IT infrastructure
- Familiarity with alerting and monitoring tools
- Exposure to automation, open source technologies, and cloud platforms (eg, AWS)
- Interest in web-based applications, Elasticsearch, and Node.js
- Communication: Strong communication skills and ability to stay composed under pressure
- Relocation: Willingness to relocate to the Cambridge area if not already local

Role Responsibilities:

- Support incident management and system reliability
- Assist with IT security services and automation tasks
- Collaborate with engineers to maintain and improve system performance
- Learn and grow within a dynamic and supportive team environment
